PCHS Calgary is a standalone not-for-profit society modeled on the very successful PCHS Ontario. PCHS Ontario is a pioneer in the cross-cultural understanding of providing health and social services in our diverse Canadian population. Its vision is to lead the way in equitable care for diverse South Asian communities. The mission is to empower and nourish Calgaryâs diverse South Asian community through safe, accessible, and culturally-informed counseling services, group programs, and outreach.
PCHS Calgary served over 1800 clients in 2021. They facilitate wraparound care with families and clients, partner with other supports and agencies. Services are designed to be accessible to best meet client needs. The organization understands cultural norms and stigma around mental health, domestic violence and addictions and offers a deep understanding of South Asian culture. Using a collectivist approach to a collectivist culture, the organization draws from South Asian traditions, environment and community.
