The Calgary Fetal Alcohol Network (CFAN), located in Calgary, Alberta, is a charitable organization that aims to reduce the incidence of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and ensure people who are affected by FASD are able to live a positive and fulfilling life in Alberta. CFAN works hard to advance how we all understand and respond to FASD. Since 2012, The Calgary Fetal Alcohol Network has helped over 8,000 clients through a comprehensive and coordinated response to prevent future alcohol-exposed pregnancies and a continuum of support for individuals with FASD, their families, and caregivers across the lifespan that are culturally informed and respectful of diversity.

Parent Advocate

The Parent Advocate plays a vital role in the Coordinated Access, Response and Empowerment (C.A.R.E) team as part of the ConnectFASD program. The Parent Advocate works closely with parents who have been diagnosed with or are suspected of having Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The role involves providing strength-based and relational support to build strong family relationships, aiming to prevent and navigate secondary challenges that may arise from the complexities associated with FASD.

C.A.R.E Connector (Case Manager)

The Coordinated Access, Response and Empowerment (C.A.R.E) Connector plays a vital role in advocacy and support to those impacted by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The C.A.R.E Connector will work within a team of Connectors to provide client-centred comprehensive support over the lifespan of the needs of individuals, families, and communities impacted by FASD.

Substance Use and Disability Support Strategist

The Substance Use and Disability Support (S.U.D.S) Strategist plays a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to support individuals with disabilities who are affected by substance use disorders. This role involves case management, advocacy, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate access to necessary resources and support systems, aiming to enhance the quality of life and promote recovery and independence for clients.
