Kerby Centre

Kerby Assembly is a non-profit organization that operates with a vision of "A community of engaged older adults.  Out mission is "To support older adults to live well in their community."  Kerby Assembly has been doing this since 1973 by running Kerby Centre in Calgary.  In 2021 we expanded by becoming the operators of Veiner Centre and Strathcona Centre serving older adults in Medicine Hat.

All Centres operating under the organization umbrella focus on improving the lives of older adults by offering a strong focus on active aging and the involvement of older adults in the community.  Services are specifically designed for the local community, by the local community.  Programs include education and recreation, information and referral, housing assistance, foot care, adult day program, food support, and a shelter for older adults encountering family violence.  During the COVID pandemic, the organization continued to operate and even geared up to assist seniors affected by COVID; much of the programming pivoted to on-line platforms.  Kerby Assembly is innovative and forward thinking, eager to greet the expanding senior population with evolving and new programming.
