We are looking for a Full Time Permanent Annual Giving Officer to join our team. This position is out of scope with the union, working 35 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The Annual Giving Officer will play a vital role in fundraising efforts, building relationships with mid-level donors and ensuring the continued success of FearIsNotLove. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong commitment to our mission, a proven track record in annual giving, and a desire to further develop in the fundraising profession.

Working closely with and reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role is responsible for strategic stewardship of donors in the annual giving portfolio using moves management techniques to deepen relationships and increase support. Additionally, the candidate will develop and implement strategies to identify, qualify, and cultivate new individual mid-level and monthly donors to increase annual giving revenue and build FearIsNotLove’s presence in the donor community.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Develop opportunities, build relationships, and execute annual giving strategies to increase individual donor engagement, loyalty, and generosity.
  • Research and identify prospective individual annual donors for cultivation and solicitation.
  • Steward relationships including regular communication and personalized recognition.
  • Renew and upgrade current annual individual donors through in-person solicitation and/or strategic proposals based on priority goals of the organization.
  • Identify major donor and corporate donor prospects in current annual donor portfolio and work with colleagues to create solicitation opportunities.
  • Confidently oversee an active portfolio of mid-level donors and accept responsibility for delivering related revenue targets.
  • Support Chief Development Officer with major gift portfolio management.
  • Organize and co-host engaging donor events for mid-level donors.

WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR MISSION

  • The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary degree/diploma or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ideally a minimum of three years of progressive non-profit fundraising experience which includes direct responsibility for a portfolio of individual donors.
  • Commitment to professional development will be important given the learning culture at FearIsNotLove.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented; positive and collaborative; excited to work in and contribute to a high-performing fundraising team.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills; a high degree of professionalism and the ability to confidently interact and build trust with individuals and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of varying motivations for donor giving across sources, styles, and financial instruments.
  • Ability to develop and maintain meaningful, respectful, long-term relationships with current and prospective donors, their families and advisors.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills with judgment of when to work independently and when to seek input from colleagues and manager.
  • Unwavering ability to maintain sensitivity and confidentiality in every interaction with donors and prospects.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and research skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills and familiarity with Teams and Trello.
  • Experience with Blackbaud donor database and an ability to commit to the organization’s standards for donor relationship management.
  • Clear and valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a vehicle are preferred.

  • Ongoing training and development is a required condition of this position.
  • A criminal records search and an intervention record check are conditions of employment.
  • If eligible for registration with a professional body, registration must be current.
  • Effective January 1st, 2022 being fully vaccinated against Covid-19 is a condition of employment.
