Reporting to the Donor Relations Lead, the Donor Relations Coordinator, Community Giving and Events, assists with the delivery of fundraising programs, including donor-focused community events and outreach. The role is critical in serving as a visible ambassador for CMHA Alberta + CSP who builds authentic, meaningful relationships with donors by leading with trust, empathy, and a commitment to the organization’s strategic plan, mission, and values.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Business, Marketing, or Public Relations. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Previous experience with fundraising and donor management.
- Collaborative relationship building with strong communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills with orientation toward details.
- Experience with event management is key.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience with SalesForce is an asset.
- Ability to learn quickly, think logically and detailed, manage complex situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in conflict situations, positive attitude, willingness to work constructively in team environment.
- Ability to be self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment of frequent change.
Hours
This full-time position is based on a 35-hour work week. It is expected that the Donor Relations Coordinator, Community Giving and Events will work five 7-hour days each week during office hours; with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. This position is eligible to work in a hybrid model with a minimum of two days per week in our Calgary office. There will be requirements for travel to support and attend community fundraising events; along with potential travel to other sites within Alberta to support program success.
Responsibilities/Competencies, including but not limited to:
- Relationship management of donors through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship cycle
- Coordinate and support community fundraising events (including liaising with individual donors, logistics, sponsorships and communications for community third-party and annual fundraising events, such as Run for Life, etc.)
- Manage and analyze donor data utilizing SalesForce and other client management tools
- Identify, coordinate, and implement stewardship initiatives for ongoing engagement with donors
- Assist with development and delivery of fundraising campaigns (mail, digital and personal engagement)
- Support donor communications and outreach (regularly attend third party events, speak at events, prepare presentations and materials for donors, etc.)
- Serve as external ambassador to advance CMHA Alberta + CSP’s brand identity, broaden awareness of our work, and increase the visibility of our organization to donors.
- Perform other related duties as identified to meet the needs of the organization.
