The Opportunity
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Advancement is responsible for the development, implementation, and success of a strategic, full-spectrum Advancement program for Glenbow as the organization transitions from a major capital campaign into long-term operations.
As a member of Glenbow’s Senior Leadership Team, the Vice President, Advancement contributes to the development and implementation of Glenbow’s strategic plan, demonstrates a people-first approach to culture development, and coaches, manages, and nurtures the success of their direct reports and Advancement team. The Vice President, Advancement is also the executive liaison for Glenbow's Board of Governors Campaign Committee and JR Shaw Legacy Committee and engages and supports volunteers in the fundraising efforts of the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader, creative thinker, and strategic planner with at least seven years of experience in advancement, including over three years in a leadership capacity, preferably in the non-profit, arts, culture, tourism, or community engagement sectors. They should have a proven track record of advancing organizational goals through effective fundraising, marketing, and communication strategies, including the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of $1M+ gifts, and the ability to build and lead effective teams in a positive, inclusive environment.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, with the ability to connect with a diverse range of populations and perspectives. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required, with CFRE certification as a bonus.
