Description
Hospice Calgary has been guiding children, teens, and adults through the grieving process as they face advanced illness and death of someone in their life for over 30 years. Our team of professionals provide individual, family and group support as well as 24-hour end-of-life care. We promise to have the difficult conversations about death, dying, and grief while hearing everyone’s unique story and responding with compassion.
The ideal candidate will:
- Work in alignment with our family and person-centered approach
- Possess understanding of grief and loss in therapeutic work
- Have experience developing and implementing family-centered programs (including groups, family camps, community-based activities).
- Bring a creative and organized approach to developing activities for families and teens within a non-profit context
- Interest in developing psychoeducational resources for schools and other community partners
- Have experience and passion for mentorship and ability to train volunteers in mentorship programming
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required
- MUST have an active practice permit/registration as a Regulated Health Professional as per Alberta’s Health Professions Act
- Minimum 1 year experience working with, and coordinating activities for, children and teens
- Experience with education and school divisions is an asset
- Experience with group facilitation (all ages) required
