Responsibilities:
- Receive workers at the Calgary International Airport, and provide information, orientation, and facilitate the landing process
- Conduct outreach activities to establish relationship with consulates, TFW employers, community groups, unions, as well as other entities to identify when and how many TFWs will be arriving on any given inbound flight.
- Leverage existing partnerships and create new ones to facilitate direct access to holistic support, system navigation and referrals for TFWs and employers.
- Purchase and prepare all necessary materials and supplies needed for airport reception.
- Facilitate interpretation and translation services to clients, service providers and employers.
- Transcribe and enter client information to the database for accurate record keeping, administering client feedback surveys, and submitting regular reports on program activities and deliverables.
- Provide relevant, individualized referrals to clients and conduct timely follow- ups to assess if the client's needs have been met effectively
- Deliver tailored plain-language information and orientation sessions on issues that affect TFWs, such as TFW Rights and Responsibilities, community resources, and other information that will help the TFWs successfully settle and integrate in Alberta.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Program Coordinator or the Program Manager.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Degree and/or Diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Social Sciences, Education or related fields is preferred.
- Previous experience working with newcomer populations, especially Temporary Foreign Workers, considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of community programs, services, and government resources in relation to living and working in Alberta is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent in communication both oral and written, workshop facilitation and presentation skills, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Has a positive attitude, is flexible, reliable, proactive, accountable, and takes initiative.
- Must have strong organizational skills and possess the ability to perform duties independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate in an additional language(s) is considered an Filipino, Spanish or French language would be preferred.
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is required.
- Available to work flexible/irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
- Current valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
