Position Summary
The Executive Director (0.8 FTE) provides overall strategic and operational leadership for SCRS, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This role combines visionary leadership with hands-on management to ensure that SCRS continues to deliver high-quality, responsive services that reflect our mission and values.
The successful candidate will bring strategic insight, financial and operational expertise, and a passion for empowering staff and community to achieve shared goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategy

  • Provide visionary leadership rooted in the organization’s mission and values.
  • Guide strategic and operational planning to advance organizational priorities.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive team culture.

Governance and Board Relations

  • Support and advise the Board in fulfilling its governance role.
  • Ensure transparent communication, reporting, and accountability.

Financial Management

  • Oversee budgeting, financial policies, and reporting to maintain fiscal integrity.
  • Identify and pursue sustainable funding opportunities.

Fund Development and Community Engagement

  • Lead fund development and partnership-building initiatives.
  • Act as SCRS’s primary spokesperson, representing the organization with funders, community partners, and stakeholders.

Operations and Human Resources

  • Ensure effective delivery of all programs and services.
  • Support and develop staff, fostering professional growth and well-being.
  • Maintain compliance with all legal, regulatory, and policy standards.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in social sciences, community development, business administration, or a related field (graduate degree an asset).
  • Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit or community-based organizations.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $70,000–$75,700 (0.8 FTE)
