The Elder Statesmen Group is a non-profit organization founded in 1977 with the express purpose of 
building and managing low-cost housing for seniors. We own and operate two apartment-style 
independent living residences in Calgary, Alberta. Our Vision: Dignified homes for all seniors. Our

We are looking for our next great employee. We are hiring for a newly created position, Housing 
Coordinator. This is a full-time on-site position with a starting salary range of 50,000 – 55,000 per year.

Overview
The Housing Coordinator will be the first point of contact for current and future residents. They 
will be responsible for efficient resident communication and timely documentation and end-to-end 
lease management. The Housing Coordinator will also support general office administration, 
maintenance coordination and other duties as required in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Responsibilities
Residents and Leasing
·  First point of tenant contact, directing calls and emails as appropriate.
·  Send application packages to potential residents via email or regular mail.
·  Receive and review new application packages, uploading relevant documents to Yardi.
·  Follow up with potential new residents by telephone and in person as required, as well as 
conduct reference review.
·  Conduct meet and greets with potential new residents.
·   New resident administration, verify income sources, identify eligibility, complete all relevant 
documents including lease agreements, insurance amendment/verification, direct withdrawal documents, 
personal information forms, move-in walk through with inspections report and photos, key and fob 
coordination, update appropriate software systems.
·  Complete all documentation for resident move-outs.
·  Address resident concerns and elevate to housing team when necessary.
·  Oversee resident lead events as well as community building with our residents.

Operations and Administration
·  Implement and maintain Yardi Breeze Premier software for all tenants as well as for maintenance 
work orders and verification of completeness.
·  Review Resident Handbook, update as necessary and distribute to residents.
·  Monitor resident room bookings and ensure resident lead events meet booking expectations.
·  Complete and distribute notifications for residents regarding upcoming events,
scheduled maintenance, emergency maintenance and suite entries.

Safety and Maintenance
·  Coordinate move-ins and move-outs with maintenance department.
·   Monitor continuous upkeep of suites, common areas and grounds in coordination with maintenance 
department, including annual suite inspections.
·  Coordinate contractor scheduling with maintenance department as required and follow up with 
same.
·  Update information on Life Safety, Mircom and Salto KS systems on an ongoing basis.

Reporting and Compliance
·  Ensure information is correct and complete in resident platforms such as QBO, Yardi, and CAFT.
·  Work with the team to report on resident group insurance, the Rent Assistance Program and other 
items as required.
·  Ensure documentation regarding process is reflective of the job duties and update as required.

Qualifications
·  Proficiency with Yardi Breeze Premier, QBO, MS Office, Plooto, and CAFT.
·  Strong knowledge of the RTA.
·  Extensive experience with leasing documentation and administration.
·  Familiarity with seniors’ housing sector.
·  The ability to handle shifting priorities, frequent interruptions, while approaching 
interactions with empathy and patience.
·  Excellent communication, collaboration and organizational skills.
·  Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
·  Strong problem-solving ability, with proficiency in multitasking and managing complex situations.
·  A clear and current criminal record with vulnerable sector check, in accordance with the 
organization’s policies and commitment to working within vulnerable sectors.
·  A genuine belief in ESG-Housing’s mission and values.

Requirements
·  RTA course – at earliest date available, paid for by company.
·   Calgary Police Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check, paid for by company.

Working Conditions
·  Full-time on-site position.
·  Office time will be split between our two locations within Calgary.
