Mental Health Worker–Generalist
(One-year Term Position)

The Opportunity
We are seeking a Mental Health Generalist to join our team. This position will support our psychosocial rehabilitation program that works closely with adults living with mental illness on goals in the life domains of independent living, employment, education, social skills and overall physical and mental wellness. This position will also lead our social recreation activity planning and facilitation. Social recreation activities are planned for Wednesday and Friday evenings, and daytimes on Saturday and statutory holidays so some weekend and evening work is required.

Key Activities
The Mental Health Generalist role includes the following key activities:

Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Member Engagement

  • Work side-by-side with members in the Clerical and Marketing Unit
  • Engage members in meaningful work opportunities that build confidence, communication skills, and vocational readiness
  • Support members' personal, social, educational, and employment goals
  • Foster an inclusive, recovery-oriented environment that promotes dignity, choice, and empowerment
  • Ensure content reflects goals and interventions from Person-Centered Plan (PCP's).

Social Recreation Coordinator

  • Lead the social recreation planning and logistics committees
  • Champion fun and innovative activities that offer great opportunities for members to connect, learn, explore, contribute and enjoy.
  • Build collaborative relationships in the community to expand opportunities
  • Co-facilitating social rec events on rotation

Agency Responsibilities

  • Provide non-clinical support for people living with mental illness
  • Participate in the Clubhouse’s collaborative leadership activities and take on projects
  • Complete documentation, outcome collection, and record keeping

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field. Candidates with significant progress towards their degrees will be considered.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in supporting adults with serious mental health needs. Equivalencies will be considered.

Requirements:

  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Recent Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
