We’re seeking 2 Full-Time and 1 Part-Time purpose-driven Branch Associates to join our passionate team at our newest location in downtown Calgary. At our Neoma branch, you’ll be right in the middle of the action balancing hands-on client support with essential warehouse operations. The Opportunity
The Branch Associates will be at the heart of both client service and warehouse operations — ensuring a welcoming, respectful experience while supporting deliveries, stocking, and safety. Reporting into the Branch Supervisor, you’ll support client intake, guide volunteers during food hamper distribution, and help create a smooth, efficient space where teamwork and care come together. This role offers a meaningful chance to contribute daily to food accessibility and community well-being.
What You’ll Do:
- Support client intake processes, ensuring ID verification and related procedures are followed.
- Assist with client questions, resource referrals, and crisis/conflict resolution as needed.
- Ensure client-facing processes follow health, safety, and food handling standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and dignity in all client interactions.
- Volunteer support, which includes welcoming, coaching, training and supporting onsite volunteers.
- Conduct health and safety orientations to volunteers for specific tasks and areas of work.
- Receive and handle incoming deliveries and outgoing waste safely and efficiently.
- Stock perishables and non-perishables in the shopping area.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, donations, and product movement.
- Assist with hamper preparation and product rotation in accordance with guidelines.
- Support cleanliness and organization in the shopping area.
- Operate equipment safely (e.g., pallet jacks), following all health and safety procedures.
- Report issues related to safety, inventory discrepancies, or operational hazards promptly.
- Make operational decisions in real-time to address client and warehouse needs.
- Prioritize tasks and allocate volunteers appropriately based on the demands of the shift.
- Ensure compliance with Calgary Food Bank policies and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.
- Participate in implementing feedback from clients and volunteers to improve service quality.
- Actively promote health and safety in the workplace.
What You Bring:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Community Development, Social Work, Nutrition and Food Science, Supply Chain Management or related disciplines).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience dealing with a wide variety of people in retail or nonprofit work (a combination of education and equivalent experience will be considered).
- Experience working in customer service or with vulnerable populations is an asset.

Working Conditions
- Full-time hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Part-time hours: 10 hours per week
- Occasional evening and weekend shifts may be required for operational needs.
- Work is primarily conducted in a mixed warehouse and retail-like environment.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, frontline service environment.
- Must be comfortable in changing work environments, standing or sitting for long periods of time and be able to lift 50 lbs.
