We’re looking for a dynamic Branch Coordinator at our Neoma location to be a key force behind its success, coordinating both client service and operational excellence. The Opportunity
In this role, you'll help shape branch-level programming with a strong client-first mindset—adapting and launching activities that meet evolving community needs. Reporting to the Branch Supervisor, you’ll empower volunteers during food hamper distribution and facilitate warehouse activities such as inventory control, receiving, and restocking, ensuring smooth, efficient operations that keep our services running reliably and responsively.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate daily food deliveries and pickups; maintain accurate inventory records, including donations and product movement.
- Maintain timely and accurate data on key performance metrics.
- Collect and organize program data and complete reporting requirements on schedule.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to deliver a high-quality client experience.
- Conduct gap assessments of the branch program to identify areas for improvement and develop alternate program opportunities to meet community needs.
- Ensure proper daily closure of the building, including securing entrances, shutting down equipment, and completing end-of-day safety checks.
- Facilitate client intake procedures, including ID verification and registration protocols.
- Support clients by answering questions, providing resource referrals, and resolving conflicts or crises when needed.
- Ensure all client-facing services meet health, safety, and food handling standards.
- Uphold client confidentiality and always ensure respectful interactions.
- Assist and support volunteers with operational tasks and training.
- Conduct task-specific health and safety orientations for volunteers.
- Stock perishable and non-perishable items in the shopping area.
- Assist with food hamper preparation and product rotation according to established guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shopping area.
- Operate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) safely and in compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Report any safety concerns, inventory discrepancies, or operational hazards promptly.
- Collaborate with the Branch Supervisor to optimize inventory levels, reduce waste, and avoid shortages.
- Support initiatives to expand food accessibility through the Neoma branch location.
- Assist the Program Supervisor with budget management, including resolving discrepancies.
- Make real-time operational decisions to address client or warehouse issues.
- Prioritize tasks and assign volunteer support based on shift needs.
- Ensure compliance with Calgary Food Bank policies and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.
- Implement client and volunteer feedback to improve the Neoma branch services.
- Actively promote health and safety in the workplace.
What You Bring:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Community Development, Social Work, Nutrition and Food Science, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related disciplines)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Coordinator or similar role (a combination of education and equivalent experience will be considered).
- Experience in a Team Lead or Trainer role is an asset.
- Experience working in customer service or with vulnerable populations is an asset.
Skills & Capabilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with diverse audiences.
- Having initiative, with the ability to work under little or no supervision and to be able to work under pressure
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and client engagement skills.
Working Schedule and Conditions:
- Full-time hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Evening and weekend shifts are required to meet operation needs.
- Work is conducted in a mixed warehouse and retail-like environment.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, client-facing environments.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
