Dementia Network Calgary is a collective impact model that leverages the amazing power of community to “do more together”.   Recognizing that no one organization can tackle the challenges around dementia alone, The Network brings together a community of people and organizations with the shared vision of making Calgary a supportive, innovative community where people impacted by dementia can live life well.
Alzheimer Calgary is the backbone organization for Dementia Network Calgary.   The Collective Impact Lead reports to the Executive Director of Alzheimer Calgary.

Position Overview:

The Collective Impact Lead for Dementia Network Calgary will play a pivotal role in guiding our shared vision among the collective and advocating for impactful solutions. This position requires a systems thinker with strong leadership and facilitation skills, a passion for social change, and expertise in convening diverse groups, advocacy, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Ensures the strategic vision and goals are in alignment with collective impact principles.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, curiosity, innovation, and accountability among stakeholders.
  2. Convening and Collaboration:
    • Facilitate regular meetings among the DNC’s Strategic Council, partners, and community members to foster learning, dialogue and collaboration.
    • Build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of collaborators including  families impacted by dementia, government,  nonprofits, businesses, and community groups.
    • Develop and implement cohesive and mutually reinforcing strategies.
  3. Advocacy:
    • Lead advocacy efforts to influence policy and resource allocation in support of collective impact initiatives.
    • Identify and engage with key decision-makers and collaborators to promote the organization’s agenda.
  4. Communications:
    • Develop and oversee a comprehensive communications strategy that articulates the shared goals and results of the collective.
    • Oversee the DNC’s communications including website, social media and community engagement efforts.
  5. Impact Measurement:
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess the impact of collective efforts.
    • Use data and storytelling to communicate successes and challenges.
  6. Resource Mobilization:
    • Work with partners to mobilize resources to support collective impact initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public policy, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in leadership roles within nonprofit, public, or community organizations.
  • Proven experience in convening diverse groups and fostering collaborative partnerships.
  • Strong advocacy skills with a track record of influencing policy and mobilizing communities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written, verbal and comfort with public speaking
  • Ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable insights.
