Where do you fit in?
TWV is looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator who is responsible for overseeing the volunteer and Gender Equity Mechanics (GEM) programs, ensuring meaningful and educational experiences for participants. GEM promotes opportunities aimed at increasing gender equity in cycling and the community, so that women, trans-femme and non-binary (WTFNB) folks feel comfortable and empowered engaging with bikes. You also manage and grow TWV’s online presence by creating and sharing content that reflects our mission and values. Your passion for supporting youth, attention to detail, and commitment to building community and organizational capacity make you an essential part of our team. With creativity and care, you strengthen relationships with all TWV stakeholders.
You are the right candidate if you’re passionate about working with youth, advancing gender equity, and believe in the power of community-led change. You bring creativity and care to everything you do — whether that's coordinating volunteers, running programs, or building an engaged online community. Juggling a few different projects at once doesn’t throw you off; you know how to keep an eye on the big picture while nailing the details. Personal, professional, or community experiences have shaped how you think about creating inclusive spaces where people feel seen and valued. You’re excited by the idea of trying new approaches, gathering feedback, and using what you learn to make things even better. Spotting opportunities, taking initiative, and rolling with change are all things you naturally do. You know when to collaborate and when to take the lead to move projects forward.
What you’ll focus on:
-
Coordinate the volunteer program, including recruiting, onboarding, registering, and recognizing volunteers in ways that build lasting engagement.
-
Manage and grow the GEM (Gender Equity Mechanics) program by designing, scheduling, delivering, and evaluating sessions, and recruiting and supporting participants.
-
Run the TWV Social Media channels, helping to shape the voice and storytelling of the organization and grow an active online community.
-
Create original content for social media and program advertising that is aligned with TWV’s mission, tone, and audience needs.
-
Gather and analyze volunteer feedback, participant feedback, and social media analytics to inform improvements and new ideas.
-
Recommend new initiatives and improvements to the Program Manager and Leadership about the volunteer program, GEM and online engagement
-
Manage multiple projects and tasks at once, setting priorities to meet timelines and deliverables without sacrificing quality.
-
Collaborate with team members across programs and departments to support a consistent, community-centered experience for participants and volunteers.
-
Participate in check-ins with the Program Manager, sharing updates, ideas, and feedback to strengthen program delivery and team communication.
-
Support other programs and initiatives as needed, stepping in as a facilitator, planner, or connector.
-
Take ownership of your own learning and development, welcoming feedback and seeking opportunities to strengthen your skills over time.
