Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Events Coordinator based in Calgary, AB. The Events Coordinator will report to the Events and Sponsorships Supervisor and collaborate with the Fund Development team to coordinate and support fundraising events for the PCC. This role involves planning, organizing, and promoting both internal and third-party events, while adhering to guidelines and protocols for a cohesive PCC experience.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in marketing, business, public relations, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- 1+ years of experience in administration, events, or marketing.
- Experience within a non-profit setting is considered an asset.
General
- Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to present concepts effectively.
- Exhibit a growth mindset through self-motivation and commitment to continuous improvement, while proactively taking responsibility for tasks and outcomes.
- Apply a practical approach to managing day-to-day tasks, consistently problem-solving and finding efficient ways to address any issues that arise.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work productively with frequent interruptions and collaborate within a multifaceted team.
Technical
- Strong proofreading skills to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Canva, ect.) is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with teams to plan, organize, and promote fundraising events.
- Managing the events calendar, database, and registration of lottery licenses, ensuring compliance with AGLC guidelines.
- Serving as the main contact for event volunteers and coordinating social media accounts and content.
- Providing administrative support to the Fund Development team, including preparing event reports and monitoring social media.
- Assisting in implementing signature events, sourcing photography, and identifying innovative opportunities to achieve long-term fundraising goals.
- Participating in team-building activities and completing general office duties as needed.
Working Conditions:

- Travel to offsite locations throughout the province will be required.
