This role involves delivering both our elementary and junior high programs for girls, with a primary focus on launching and implementing our newly developed junior high curriculum. The Girls Programs — designed for girls in Grades 4–6 and Grades 8–9 — are participatory, school- and community-based programs developed by the Centre for Sexuality.

Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized community-based organization delivering programs and services to normalize sexuality and sexual health across an individual’s lifespan. We have been leading the way in the areas of sexuality, healthy relationships, human rights, gender identity, sexual orientation, equality, and consent for over 50 years.  Sexual well-being for all is at the core of what we do. We teach, we train, and we advocate to support healthy bodies, healthy relationships, and healthy communities. We provide education, training, and counselling for anyone who needs support related to these topics.

Position Overview:

We’re currently seeking a passionate and skilled Facilitator to join our Girls Program team. This role involves delivering both our elementary and junior high programs for girls, with a primary focus on launching and implementing our newly developed junior high curriculum. 
As a Facilitator with the Centre for Sexuality, you will guide participants through engaging group activities and workshops using our evidence-informed curriculum. Your role is key in ensuring that program objectives are achieved while fostering an inclusive, interactive, and supportive learning environment. 

The Girls Programs — designed for girls in Grades 4–6 and Grades 8–9 — are participatory, school- and community-based programs developed by the Centre for Sexuality. These programs aim to build foundational sexual health knowledge, strengthen social-emotional skills, and support girls in navigating unique challenges on the path to current and future well-being.  Facilitators work collaboratively with youth, caregivers, schools, and community partners in this role. 

As our successful candidate you will: 

Program delivery and administration 

  • Facilitate Girls programming with female-identified youth in schools and community settings (ages 9–16). 
  • Create safer learning environments for youth to participate in transformational learning experiences.  
  • Review program materials and content and if required, modify using the adaptation framework. 
  • Adhere to the set bookings, schedules, and logistics for program sessions. 
  • Draft communication for internal and external stakeholders as required. 
  • Participate in regular performance planning and review.  

 
Program monitoring, evaluation and reporting 

  • Provide input on reports related to program activities and outcomes.  
  • Provide feedback on curriculum and contribute to curriculum reviews. 
  • Participate in ongoing program monitoring, evaluation, and improvement. 

Partnership engagement and relationship management 

  • Maintain and nurture current partnership relationships. 
  • Adhere to the Partnership Pipeline Standard. 
  • Apply constructive collaboration and conflict resolution techniques with team members to maintain a productive work environment.

Community Engagement 

  • Promote the Centre for Sexuality as a leader in programs and services for sexual health. 
  • Represent the organization/program at internal and external meetings and events. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and communities. 
  • Respond to requests for information about the program in a professional and timely manner. 

Training and Development 

  • Participate in internal and external professional development opportunities. 
  • Stay updated on emerging research and best practices.  
  • Participate in program observations in support of development and program fidelity. 
  • Engage in reflective practices to enhance professional growth. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in child and youth studies, education, public health, social work or related field. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience or a combination of work experience and population-specific experience/education. 
  • Working knowledge of group facilitation techniques and practices. 
  • Knowledge of and/or experience facilitating core topics related to the Girls program curriculum. 
  • Ability to provide a police information record check with vulnerable sector search 

Compensation and Work Environment: 

  • Salary range $54,000-$60,000 annually. 
  • This position is a one-year term.

  • Hybrid schedule is 1 day at home and 4 in office.  
  • Open and collaborative work environment.  
  • Travel to Calgary and surrounding areas, a car would be required.
