The Elder Statesmen Group is a small private not-for- profit housing company that has provided safe, affordable, and dignified housing since 1972. ESG Housing manages two independent-living seniors apartment complexes. The role of Housing coordinator will suit a person that thrives in a ever changing setting with a passion for supporting older adults.

Description

The Housing Coordinator role is Monday to Friday, and on-call in cases of emergency.
Office time will be split between our Becker Manor and Bow Claire Apartments. 

Key Responsibilities of the Housing Coordinator

This position is key for resident-related responsibilities as well as general office administration.
 

  • First point of tenant contact, directing calls and emails as appropriate.
  • Send application packages to potential residents via email or regular mail.
  • Receive and review new application packages, uploading relevant documents to Yardi. Follow up with potential new residents by telephone and in person as required, as well as conduct reference review.
  • New resident administration, verify income sources, identify eligibility, complete all relevant documents including lease agreements, insurance amendment/verification, direct withdrawal documents, personal information forms, move-in walk through with inspections report and photos, key and fob coordination, update appropriate software systems.
  • Coordinate move-ins and move-outs with maintenance department.
  • Complete all documentation for resident move-outs.
  • Address resident concerns and elevate to housing team when necessary.
  • Oversee resident lead events as well as community building with our residents.
  • Monitor continuous upkeep of suites, common areas and grounds in coordination with maintenance department.
  • Coordinate contractor scheduling with maintenance department as required and follow up with same.
  • Update information on Life Safety, Mircom and Salto KS systems on an ongoing basis.

Required Training

  • RTA course – at earliest date available, paid for by company.
  • Calgary Police Vulnerable Sector Check, paid for by company.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with Yardi, CAFT, MS office, familiarity with seniors’ housing sector, leasing and administration.
  • Handle shifting priorities, frequent interruptions all while keeping your cool and approaching interactions with empathy and patience.
