Intensive Case Manager
Full time permanent- Monday to Friday dayshifts
The Big Hill Haven Intensive Case Manager develops supportive, non-judgmental, strength-based relationships with individuals experiencing family violence. Clients are provided education and information about domestic violence, including: risk assessments, safety plans, advocacy, support, referrals and resources to support living in a healthy and safe environment.
You are responsible for:
– Delivery of programs and services using a client centered, strength-based approach consistent with Big Hill Haven’s Mission, Vision and Values.
– Educating survivors on risk and supporting them with safety plans for themselves and their families.
– Providing support and advocacy to clients.
– Providing strong case management, including:

  • Assessing risk of family violence
  • Completing safety plans
  • Supporting clients in identifying and attaining goals.

– Attending and participating in meetings with staff, team, and other agencies.
– Maintaining accurate documentation.
– Court support including but not limited to parenting orders, EPO applications, Restraining Order applications
– Providing on-going education and support.
– Must be able to work in a face-paced, team environment.
– Willing to work in high stress situations.
– Willing to work within a primary prevention framework to stop violence before it starts.
– Respectful of values the views of all group members equally.
– Completing/maintaining administrative records as required, including but not limited to evaluation forms, grievances, incident reports.
What you bring:
– Post-secondary education in an applicable discipline. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
– Knowledge of domestic violence and its impact on individuals and families.
– Ability to work independently.
– Ability to interact respectfully and appropriately with diverse groups of people.
– Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
– Willing to attend and participate in ongoing training.
– Experience with Microsoft Suite and Outlook and Sharepoint.
– Ability to adhere to Big Hill Haven policies and procedures.
– Ability to comply with the Freedom of Information Act.
– Non-judgmental and accepting attitude.
– Positive and enthusiastic.
– Shows initiative and willingness to work with creativity.
– Confident and consistent decision-making skills.
– Resourcefulness and flexibility to meet the demands of the position and needs of the organization
– Ability to be an effective problem solver who is willing resolve conflict.
– Valid driver license
– Possession or ability to obtain:

  • CPR/First Aid Certificate
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Child Intervention Check
  • ASIST
