Join our Research & Evaluation team as a Manager, Research & Evaluation to support the evaluation and monitoring of the agency’s programs and services, measuring our impact, outputs and outcomes, and ensuring the agency is working in alignment with the strategic plan. We're currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated professional to fill a full-time, non-unionized position, working from Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.

We serve all people to live free from fear, neglect, violence, and abuse through a comprehensive range of innovative programs and services; from prevention and education, to counselling and emergency supports.

The Research & Evaluation team supports the evaluation and monitoring of the agency’s programs and services, measuring our impact, outputs and outcomes, and ensuring the agency is working in alignment with the strategic plan. This team is responsible for providing the data for continuous program improvement, contract reporting and knowledge sharing.
 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • In collaboration with the Chief Programs and Impact Officer, lead the development of, and ongoing modifications to, the program evaluation framework. Conduct and oversee research and program evaluation activities that include quantitative and qualitative approaches.
  • Lead the development of FearIsNotLove Research and Evaluation Strategy, in partnership with the Chief Programs and Impact Officer.
  • Assist FearIsNotLove leaders and staff in understanding and valuing program evaluation processes and rationales, specifically outcome measurements.
  • Provide information and data on program impacts to help inform organizational strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Supervise, support and work collaboratively with the Research Assistant in meeting the deliverables of the department.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key funders and stakeholders, and report on the ongoing status and evaluation of FearIsNotLove programs and initiatives.
  • Research and implement the most appropriate program evaluation tools required for measuring the agency’s programs and initiatives.
  • Participate in inter-agency work groups and collaborative opportunities relevant to the agency’s strategic initiatives, program evaluation and outcome measurement.
  • Stay informed about the latest knowledge and research regarding family violence, sharing learning with colleagues.
  • Support the organization in integrating the values of Response-Based practice and Feedback Informed Treatment into the evaluation framework and measurement tools.
  • Complete or oversee literature reviews and environmental scans in key areas identified to inform our ongoing research agenda and ongoing quality improvement.
  • Lead and work collaboratively with colleagues to prepare funding reports as required, using the Apricot database and other program evaluation software to assist with the analysis and presentation of data. Take the lead in ensuring reports are completed by deadlines.
  • Ensure the quality, integrity and consistency of data.
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement is integrated into all programs and service delivery.
  • Be a reliable source of information for internal and external audiences. Conduct data analysis as needed.
  • Implement and maintain accurate and up-to-date filing system with regard to program evaluation.
  • Ensure Compliance with Accreditation Standards; Maintain current police and IRC checks, professional registration (if applicable), and required accreditation-related training
  • Other duties as assigned to support FearIsNotLove’s programs.

WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR MISSION:

  • Degree and training in Social Sciences with Program Evaluation knowledge required.
  • Master’s degree in the Social Sciences, or related field would be considered an asset
  • Experience participating in research and evaluation activities required, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis and interpretation. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with qualitative and quantitative experience in program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of family violence and abuse preferred.
  • Experience with literature reviews, databases and program evaluation approaches and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with theories of change, validated instruments.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts.
  • Ability to translate data and statistical information in such a way that it can be used for various stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to think and act strategically and systematically and work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to meet defined deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Self-starter who takes initiative to provide results that are aligned with the Agency’s strategic direction.
  • Ability to motivate and coordinate individuals to accomplish tasks.
  • Experience supervising staff.

  • Ongoing training and development is a required condition of this position.
  • A criminal records search and an intervention record check are conditions of employment.
  • If eligible for registration with a professional body, registration must be current.
