Centre for Sexuality is a nationally recognized community-based organization delivering programs and services to normalize sexuality and sexual health across an individual’s lifespan and we partner with individuals and organizations for the benefit of our clients and communities. Sexual well-being for all is at the core of what we do. We teach, we train, and we advocate to support healthy bodies, healthy relationships, and healthy communities. We provide education, training, and counselling for everyone and have been leading the way in the areas of sexuality, healthy relationships, human rights, gender identity, sexual orientation, equality, and consent for over 50 years.
As the Team Lead of Education, you will collaborate with the Youth Programs Manager to oversee the daily operations of the Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RSE) programs and the 2SLGBTQ+ youth programs. Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RSE) program has been delivered in schools and community since 1975. RSE follows best practices guidelines and established frameworks for sexual health, relationship, and violence prevention education and is linked to the Alberta Learning Curriculum outcomes. We offer youth the opportunity to build their knowledge, skills, and motivation to make informed, healthy choices about their bodies, relationships, and sexuality. Our 2SLGBTQ+ youth programs include Camp fYrefly, GSA supports for schools, and healthy relationships program for 2SLGBTQ+ youth.
This role includes program planning, implementation, and evaluation while providing mentorship and support to program staff. This role supports the day to day operations of the programs. You will supervise a team of facilitators, ensuring effective program delivery and foster partnerships with schools and community organizations.
As our successful candidate, you will provide support in the following areas:
Program Administration
- Coordinate and oversee the scheduling and logistics of RSE program delivery in schools and community settings.
- Ensure adequate resources are available to execute program activities.
- Oversee administrative tasks such as time tracking, time-off requests, and program supply requests.
Program Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Support the preparation of program reports and evaluation processes, ensuring timely submissions to funders and leadership.
- Ensure content aligns with best practices in sexual health education, gender equity, and violence prevention.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by integrating research, evaluation data, and emerging trends into program development.
- Present program findings to stakeholders, funders, and leadership through reports, presentations, and meetings.
- Maintain regular communication with the Manager regarding high-priority and sensitive program issues.
Program Planning and Implementation
- Collaborate with leadership to set long- and short-term goals for training programs and sevices
- Develop and oversee curriculum delivery, ensuring alignment with best practices in sexual health education.
- Ensure programs are delivered in a safe and inclusive enviroment.
- Provide staff with clear implementation plans and address challenges that may impact program success.
- Observe staff facilitation to ensure program fidelity and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Community Engagement
- Promote the Centre for Sexuality as a leader in programs and services for sexual health.
- Represent the organization / program at internal and external meetings and events.
- Respond to requests for information about the program in a professional and timely manner.
- Engage in community development activities to strengthen program visibility and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the community.
Training and Development
- Participate in hiring and onboarding of team members.
- Stay informed on current research, best practices, and trends in sexual health education.
- Develop training manuals, handbooks, and other instructional aids.
- Guide staff through capacity-building activities to enhance program delivery.
- Participate as a member of the leadership team to support staff training and professional development.
Partnership Engagement and Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with schools, community organizations, and advisory committees.
- Advocate for sustainable, long-term partnerships that support program growth.
- Work collaboratively with partners to improve program outreach and engagement.
- Maintain regular check-ins with program partners to ensure alignment with shared goals.
Team Leadership and Development
- Provide mentorship, supervision, and direction to program staff, ensuring high-quality facilitation of the curriculum.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set annual goals, and support professional development.
- Support the Manager in the selection, orientation, and training of new program staff.
- Foster a supportive work environment that encourages open communication and collaboration.
- Model organizational values and promote a positive, inclusive work culture.
Qualifications and Attributes required:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Services, or Public Health or related field or in a related filed or combination of work experience with population specific programming expertise.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in team leadership, program management, and nonprofit operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of the population health promotion model, relevant health promotion strategies and determinants of health.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in delivering youth programs
- Knowledge and comfort with topics related to sexuality, sexual health, gender, and sexual and gender diversity will be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of core topics related to the population specific programming
- Proven ability in building partnerships, fostering community relationships, and driving alignment in engagement initiatives.

Additional requirements:
- Access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (or willingness to obtain one).
- Valid First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to become certified).
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $68,000 – $73,000 annually.
