Guiding Transformation: Role Overview

As a full-time Counsellor, you'll report to our Team Lead and collaborate closely with our fellow Counsellors to deliver professional and compassionate addiction counselling services. From devising personalized treatment plans to facilitating individual and group counselling sessions, your role will be pivotal in supporting individuals on their path to recovery.

Empowering Service Delivery: Responsibilities
 

  • Conduct tailored individual and group therapy sessions, employing innovative approaches to suit each client's unique needs.
  • Spearhead program development initiatives aimed at enriching our service offerings, integrating the latest research and treatment modalities.
  • Offer crisis intervention and steadfast support to clients navigating high-risk behaviors, ensuring their safety and well-being remains the top priority.

Credentials & Capabilities: Qualifications
 

  • Possess a Master Degree in Psychology or Social Work, or related field
  • Demonstrate proficiency in counselling and leading group therapy sessions
  • Exhibit a deep understanding of addiction and co-occurring mental health issues, utilizing a trauma-informed approach.
  • Familiarity with Addiction Treatment modalities, including 12-Step, as well as Indigenous mental health and wellness practices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and community resources is desirable.
