Position Overview

We seek a highly organized and detail-oriented Special Events Support Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role will support our team in planning and executing community events, programs and services. It is a 6 month contracted position.

About Us

Cerebral Palsy Kids and Families (CPKF) is a grassroots charity committed to supporting families of children and young adults living with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities. For 75 years, we’ve been making a difference in Calgary through innovative programs, events, and community support.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate event logistics, including timelines, volunteer coordination support, and vendor management.
  • May support the development and schedule of social media content related to events, programs and services
  • Support fundraising activities, including donor outreach, silent auctions, and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm creative ideas for events and marketing.
  • Maintain detailed records and track event progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including sponsors, volunteers, and attendees as required

Qualifications

  • Experience working with a charity, especially those supporting individuals with disabilities
  • Fundraising experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills are highly valued
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event planning software is a plus Special Events and Fundraising Assistant

Details

  • This is a contract position until June 30, 2025, with the potential for extension based on funding
  • The position offers flexibility in hours and a combination of remote and in person work
