CPHR Alberta is the professional association representing over 6,500 human resources leaders and practitioners across the province. As the third-largest HR association in Canada, we are the exclusive certifying body for the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) designation — the national benchmark for HR excellence.
With active chapters in every major city in the province, we are building a strong, connected HR community committed to advancing the profession through expertise, ethics, and leadership. What you will do
- Relying on previous experience, you will lead the development of strategic sponsorship and partnership initiatives, creating tiered sponsorship options with defined benefits that align with sponsor goals and audience demographics.
- Proactively seek opportunities to engage stakeholders and the community in sponsorship and partnerships opportunities that enhance member value and support organizational goals.
- Pitch sponsorship opportunities and negotiate terms with organizations that align with CPHR Alberta values.
- Serve as the main point of contact for sponsors, ensuring that they receive all promised benefits.
- In close collaboration with colleagues and partners, ensure workshops, online seminars, and professional development sessions run like clockwork-delivering seamless, high-impact learning experiences for our members. This includes:
- Organizing virtual and in-person sessions
- Tracking attendance, feedback, and certification process
- Creating or compiling learning materials like handouts, workbooks, and presentation slides
- Partner with marketing & communications strategists to ensure consistent, personalized messaging across all stakeholder touchpoints.
- Bring the CPHR Alberta brand to life at events-connecting with members, partners, and the public to grow our community and amplify our impact.
- Champion teamwork and shared success by actively supporting colleagues and nurturing a positive, professional, and empowering team culture.
What you bring to the role
- Must have previous experience in fundraising or sponsorship, ideally 2-4 years at a Coordinator level, with experience building tiered sponsorship options.
- Sharp administrative skills, clear communication, and multitasking mastery – ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
- Creativity and agility to solving complex problems-turning challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Skill in cultivating meaningful connections with internal teams and external partners to drive shared success and strategic outcomes.
- Previous experience in learning and development or adult education an asset.
- Proficient in budgeting and financial tracking.
- Skill in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines without compromising quality or attention to detail.
We are looking for a full-time team member who thrives on building strong relationships, is resourceful and detail-oriented, and brings a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset to every challenge. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary to support events. Some travel may also be required for event participation or stakeholder meetings.

Our team works a 37.5-hour condensed week, with flexible start and end times each day. We collaborate in the office on Wednesdays, work remotely the remaining weekdays, as well as enjoy Friday afternoons off.
