Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Manager, Human Resources to join our team at Inn from the Cold to lead all aspects of HR including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, compensation, and employee relations.
What You’ll Do
- Support leaders in building effective teams and managing performance with consistency and care
- Oversee HR compliance with employment law, health and safety, and privacy standards
- Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all HR practices
- Develop and maintain up-to-date policies, systems, and HR data processes
- Partner with leadership to strengthen organizational culture and engagement
- Manage HR metrics, analytics, and reporting to inform decisions
- Supervise HR Team.
This position description reflects the general duties of the role, but is not intended to include all duties that may be inherent in the position. The Senior Manager, Human Resources may be asked to perform other duties as required or assigned.

The Senior Manager, Human Resources

- Understands the complexity of nonprofit and front-line work environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; a Master’s degree or postgraduate certification is an asset
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation required
- Minimum of 7–8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including 3+ years in a leadership or strategic HR role
- Demonstrated expertise across core HR functions including employee relations, performance management, compensation, recruitment, compliance, and organizational culture
- Proven ability to provide strategic HR advice to senior leaders and manage sensitive employee issues with sound judgment and discretion
- Strong working knowledge of employment standards, human rights legislation, and privacy laws in Alberta
- High level of professionalism and emotional intelligence with a trauma-informed, equity-focused approach to people management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the organization
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with HRIS platforms such as BambooHR is an asset
- Demonstrated experience in budget development and managing vendor/contractor relationships
- Commitment to continuous learning; completion of required organizational training including Indigenous Awareness, Brain Story, conflict de-escalation, and harm reduction.
