Job Developer and Employment Specialist
(One-year Term Position)

We are seeking an employment specialist to work in our Mental Health setting. Key Activities:
The Job Developer and Employment Specialist role includes the following key activities:

Job Development

  • Identify and recruit potential employment partners for PPS’ transitional employment program and work with them to create job opportunities for Clubhouse members
  • Build effective employer support strategies and training protocols
  • Customize and implement employee train-in-place and support protocols
  • Match members to employment opportunities and help to support their success
  • Maintain and support existing transitional employment positions

Employment Training and Support

  • Support members’ employment preparation including strengths finding, skill development, resume building, etc.
  • Facilitate career development training

Lead of PPS’ Employment Program

  • Strategy development in partnership with the Employment Committee
  • Data collection, record keeping, and reporting
  • Clubhouse employment program training
  • Engage members in program planning and administration

Agency Responsibilities

  • Provide non-clinical support for people living with mental illness
  • Engage with and support members in the work of the Clubhouse
  • Participate in the Clubhouse’s collaborative leadership activities and take on
  • Facilitate occasional after hours social recreational activities

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field. Candidates with significant progress towards their degrees will be considered.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in supporting adults experiencing barriers to employment

Requirements:

  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Recent Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
