The Alberta Council of Disability Services (ACDS) is a provincial not-for-profit association that supports community-based service providers who serve people with developmental disabilities. We are committed to promoting excellence in service delivery through accreditation, education, and advocacy.

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accreditation Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong caseload management skills and a passion for quality assurance in the disability services sector.
Please note: This position is in-office for the duration of the three-month probation period, after which hybrid/remote work arrangements may be considered.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accreditation Management:  Oversee a caseload of service providers through initial and renewal accreditation, ensuring compliance with standards. Coordinate site surveys, including team selection, scheduling, provider preparation, and communication.
  • Organizational Support:  Guide organizations through the accreditation process, including documentation review and standards interpretation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:  Schedule and liaise with surveyors and service providers. Maintain professional communication with clients, families, guardians, staff, and community representatives.
  • Policy & Standards Development:  Contribute to the creation and maintenance of standards, policies, and procedures aligned with evolving accreditation requirements.
  • Data & Reporting:  Maintain accurate records, support data analysis, and assist in preparing reports for management and funders. Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
  • Training & Resources:  Support the distribution of tools, information, and training to stakeholders across government, community, and volunteer sectors.
  • Strategic Communication:  Establish regular updates for internal and external stakeholders. Navigate complex dynamics with diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Committee Participation:  Engage in planning meetings and committee work related to accreditation.
  • Survey Documentation:  Assist in drafting and revising survey reports as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Degree or diploma in Disability, Social, or Human Services (or equivalent experience); 2–5 years in a non-profit setting preferred.
  • Experience in caseload or project management, preferably in human services, accreditation, or quality assurance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities with precision and efficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, SurveyMonkey, and content management systems, database and records management experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.  Public speaking and group facilitation are assets.
  • Knowledge of Alberta’s disability services sector is an asset.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills; Experience in event planning and accreditation processes; familiarity with project coordination systems.
