The Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre (AARC) provides a unique, evidence-based, long-term treatment program supporting youth and young adults aged 12-21 dealing with substance abuse or addiction. The program also addresses the needs of impacted family members and loved ones, focusing on holistic recovery. We are currently seeking a Development and Engagement Administrator to join our team!

POSITION SUMMARY  The Development and Engagement Administrator will provide administrative support to the Fund Development & Events and Community Engagement areas.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain donor and prospect database.
  • Generate and record correspondence and receipts to donors.
  • Donation record filing.
  • Arrange meetings, virtual sessions, and conference calls.
  • A member of all Event Committees, and the Community Engagement Committee, prepare agendas and take minutes for all the same.
  • Assist with coordination, administration and solicitation for events – live and silent auction, signage, event program and program outline, sponsorship and ticket registration, mailouts and volunteer management with support from the Manager of Fund Development & Events.
  • Volunteer coordination for AARC’s fundraising and community engagement events.
  • Creation of click boxes and corresponding documents for use in emails.
  • Assistance with video projects.
  • Proof reading and document editing, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Assist with designing mailouts, fundraising campaigns, and community engagement outreach.
  • Schedule facility tours and calendar management for community engagement initiatives.
  • Ordering and maintenance of AARC marketing materials.
  • Reception phone coverage as needed, including lunches/holidays/etc.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service to donors, volunteers and community partners.
  • Work collaboratively with AARC staff, parents and alumni volunteers.
  • Work occasional evenings and/or weekends as required.
  • Operate within the philosophy, culture and values of the organization.
  • Other duties as required

Qualification Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or related experience.
  • One to three years’ previous experience in events, marketing, communications, or a non-profit administrative role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational ability, planning skills, works well under pressure, prioritizing of work and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability and able to proactively adjust to changing priorities as needed.
  • Non-profit experience is preferred.
  • Experience with design software (Adobe Creative Suite is preferred).
  • Experience with CRM and database software (Donor Perfect or donor management system is preferred).
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
