Opportunity:
Lionheart is seeking a full-time Intake and System Navigator to support client intake, system navigation, and case management support within Lionheart’s Youth Mental Health Counselling Program. As a member of Lionheart’s program team, the Intake and System Navigator will complete intake meetings with prospective clients for application processing and build awareness about Lionheart’s services through outreach initiatives. This position will also support ongoing system navigation and case management support to approved subsidy clients and Lionheart’s therapist network. Working collaboratively, the successful candidate will have a clinical background, be a strong communicator, have a solid understanding of the mental health landscape for adolescents in Calgary and surrounding area, and experience in trauma-informed approaches. They will be able to work successfully with minimal supervision and have a strong attention to detail and a passion to support positive youth mental health in the community.
Job Profile:
The Intake and System Navigator will provide support to Lionheart’s Calgary program team by assessing client needs by completing intake meetings, and resourcing clients who are not a program fit and providing information about other relevant resources. This position will also require the collection and maintenance of client data and support the implementation of Lionheart’s communication and outreach strategy. The Intake and System Navigator will also represent Lionheart at assigned community meetings and complete administrative duties assigned by their supervisor. Some travel may be required to communities outside of Calgary as part of the outreach strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years working with vulnerable populations, preferably youth, from a trauma-informed approach
- A clinical intake background is preferred
- A strong knowledge of the mental health and service landscape in Calgary and surrounding communities is required
- A Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or related field of study or comparable experience
- An understanding of the clinical presentation of adolescents with anxiety-related disorders
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Excellent client-centered customer service from a compassionate, culturally sensitive/competent approach
- Good knowledge of MS Office programs
- Strong presentation written and verbal communication skills
- Able to represent Lionheart’s mission, vision and values to the community
- Able to work collaboratively in a remote/hybrid team environment
This position is a flexible full-time position with benefits and paid vacation. The successful candidate will be required to work in a hybrid or in-person work environment and submit a vulnerable sector check.
