The Students' Association of Mount Royal University is a medium-sized charity that represents and serves students to help them succeed. We are seeking an organized and motivated Rentals & Events Coordinator to support the work of our events team.

Rentals & Events Coordinator

The Rentals & Events Coordinator implements SAMRU’s rental program and is responsible for initiating and executing rental agreements, coordinating logistics, and ensuring effective communication with clients. Additionally, the Coordinator will administer and coordinate contracts and invoices, maintaining accurate records and evaluation metrics.

The Rentals & Events Coordinator also works collaboratively to support the events team for other related events.

The successful Rentals & Events Coordinator should possess:

  • A related post-secondary degree (a combination of post-secondary education and experience may be considered equivalent);
  • Experience in sales, with a proven ability to negotiate agreements and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service;
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written;
  • Proven organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Skilled in conflict management;
  • Budgeting and financial management experience;
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace;
  • Knowledge of event operations and logistics;
  • Some experience with event productions and audio-visual equipment;
  • Experience in marketing is considered an asset;

The successful candidate will be required to work evenings and weekends. The starting salary for this position is $49,500 per year with excellent benefits.

The successful candidate may be eligible for many other monetary and non-monetary benefits. For example, health and dental benefits premiums are paid by the organization. SAMRU provides RRSP contributions (without a requirement to match) beginning after two years of continuous employment. An annual $888 accrual bonus, a

$400 health spending account and free membership at Mount Royal University’s gym may also be provided to the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will also enjoy a progressive, 35 hour work week and a policy on flex time which allows them to bank time during peak periods and “flex-off” during slow ones.

They will earn 15 days of vacation in the first year. SAMRU observes 13.5 paid holidays per year as well as providing three additional paid days off during the period between December 26 and January 1 when the campus is closed.
