The Opportunity
We are looking for a Manager, Family & Child Development to join our Family & Child Development Centre (FCDC) Team at CUPS.
The Manager, Family & Child Development, is responsible for providing comprehensive leadership to CUPS FCDC team, ensuring services are delivered within CUPS Integrated and Trauma-informed Care service delivery frameworks. You will plan, implement, monitor and evaluate all aspects of CUPS family & child development operations, working in collaboration with the CUPS Leadership Collaborative to continuously improve Integrated Care services between and within FCDC and across the agency.
In the role, you will leverage subject matter experts within the department to ensure all team members are provided with appropriate client practice and administrative direction. The role will provide coaching and support for leader development and sustainment of high functioning and trauma-informed work environment delivering high-quality client care.

- Schedule: Full-time, Mon to Fri, 37.5 hours per week
- Starting salary: $77,650.00 – $82,774.00
Key Responsibilities
- Create an approachable, caring and trauma-informed environment for workers and clients.
- Provide direct supervision to direct reports, maintaining oversight of all teams to ensure the provision of service per CUPS standards, governing body requirements and program goals.
- Create goals, objectives, initiatives and action plans aligned with the organizational strategic plan and deployed in coordination with other departments and programs within CUPS.
- Provide leadership and coaching to assist staff with the achievement of an integrated model of care for CUPS’ clients, identifying process and skills gaps of staff and contractors to develop improvement plans
- Promote a culture that reflects CUPS's vision, mission, philosophies and values.
- Ensure all staff develop and maintain practice knowledge of Integrated Care, the research and evidence behind Brain Science, and standard use of CUPS’ Integrated Care Tool, creating strong trauma-informed and integrated service practices.
- Develop and maintain compassionate, professional, effective teams via effective recruitment, training, performance management, and engagement strategies.
- Participate in developing and maintaining annual operating and capital budgets and exercise necessary controls to ensure operations achieve a balanced fiscal position.
- Facilitate the maintenance of accurate and complete client records which meet the demands of integrated care and the requirements of associated overseeing bodies.
- Support all direct reports with performance management and goal-setting activities and regular weekly or bi-weekly supervision. Supporting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Understand program evaluation and reporting requirements of FCDC teams, ensuring data integrity and availability for evaluation teams.
- Champion CUPS’ continuous improvement concerning health and safety through active participation and embedding CUPS health and safety practices within the department.
- Assist with developing and maintaining external relationships with partner agencies, referral sources, and community/system initiatives.
Employment Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline, with a strong background working with children and families.
- 5+ years’ experience working with families and children with 2+ years of leadership experience in expanded practice environments.

- Understands and is aligned with philosophies around trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), the socio-environmental determinants of health, and issues related to low income, mental health and substance use.
- Demonstrated understanding and a commitment to an integrated and team-based model.
- Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism in all interactions.
