Silvera is seeking experienced and visionary professionals to join our Service Advisory Sub-Committee as we advance a 10 year service strategy focused on holistic aging in place, community-integrated wellness, and innovative models of support for older adults. We are inviting applications from leaders, geriatricians, practitioners, and researchers who bring deep expertise in one or more areas of gerontology.

Description

Silvera is seeking experienced and visionary professionals to join our Service Advisory Sub-Committee as we advance a 10‑year service strategy focused on holistic aging in place, community-integrated wellness, and innovative models of support for older adults. We are inviting applications from leaders, geriatricians, practitioners, and researchers who bring deep expertise in one or more of the following areas of gerontology:

    • Primary care, chronic disease management, and integrated health services for older adults.
    • Nurse practitioner practice with seniors’ care expertise.
    • Healthy aging or applied aging research (academic or practice‑based).
    • Alberta Assisted Living or Continuing Care leadership, including home care integration, restorative care, and community‑based models.
    • Community-based, non-institutionalized dementia care, cognitive health, behavioral health, or mental health (clinical or research).
    • Adult day programs, recreation therapy and respite services.
    • Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, or mobility‑focused practice, including fall prevention and therapeutic active living (physical, cognitive, and social).
    • Nutrition or dietetics specializing in older adults, with a focus on preserving and optimizing physical functioning.
    • Social work, community development, community hub support programs and strategies to reduce isolation and strengthen social connections.
    • Service hospitality and senior living operations to guide the development of mixed-market service models.
       

About the Sub-Committee
Volunteer members of the Service Advisory Sub-Committee will offer strategic guidance, personal experiences, and professional insights to:

  • Help shape program design to promote evidence-based healthy and active aging, as well as older adult independence and self-efficacy,
  • Inform aging trajectories, older adult wellness needs, prevention of decline (physical, social and cognitive), and innovative integrated care models,
  • Guide Silvera’s Service and Innovation Research Plan, strategic partnerships, and innovations aimed at supporting older adults.

The Sub-Committee holds virtual meetings on a quarterly basis, scheduled according to the Mountain Time Zone.
